How to Increase your blog Performance using Google Webmaster Tool
Google Webmaster tool (GWT) is a free SEO tool from google, to check the performance of your blog. You can use GWT for many good reasons for your blog. I have already shared how to submit and verify your blog for GWT. This tool which help you use various optimization techniques for your blog. If you follow GWT, you can remove all your blog errors and can fix any of the SEO issues of your blog. You have many options to check in GWT to improve you blog performance in search engines. Let us check how we can increase you blog ranking and performance with the help of GWT.
Once you will login to Google Webmaster tool (GWT), you can see the search analytics in the dashboard. It will show all the organic search traffic through google. As you can see below, all the search traffic is shown through a graph or curve. Here, the search engine traffic in more during week days and it decreases in the weekend (Saturday and Sunday). Hence, you can see in the curve, there is regular downfall after few days. So, if the google search engine is more, the curve will go up and when the traffic is low, it will go down. So, do regularly check the performance of your blog in GWT.
This section is very important to let you know from where the traffic is coming. As you can see below, we have a search analytics section (which is discussed above) where will help to locate the organic traffic. Now, here we have Queries, pages, countries, Devices, search type and dates as filter. Below are the important of each of these filter.
Queries: This will show the keywords which are generating traffic to your blog. Here, when you click Queries, you can see a list of keywords (as shown below in blurred section) which brings organic traffic from google.
Pages: Pages will be nothing but the URLs or the post which are on the first page of google and generating high traffic. The high ranked keywords lead to these pages. So, here you will come to know the highly ranked pages of your blog.
Countries: This section is important for google AdSense users. Most of the AdSense users want to target audience or people for US, UK or Europe to generate more income. So, here you can see whether you are getting sufficient traffic through region or not.
Device: This filters the traffic on the basis of visitors coming to your blog through use of desktop, smartphones etc. Hence, you should also make your website mobile phones friendly, to get traffic from them.

Crawling in important for google to know about your blog. Hence, you blog posts should be interlinked for smooth crawling by the google spiders. The more google crawls your website, the more it knows about your blog. Hence, it is important to keep a regular check on crawling in WMT.
A sitemap is a file where you can list the web pages of your site to tell Google and other search engines about the organization of your site content. Search engine web crawlers like Googlebot read this file to more intelligently crawl your site. You can see the sitemap of one of my blog, it will show the number of post or pages and images submitted and how many of them have been indexed.
Links to your Site
Here, you can see the backlinks of your blog or website. The site which link to your site for shown in this section. The more sites linked to your blog the more traffic you can get.
